Salman Khan is not really in favour of on screen lip locks. He points out that since he hasn't kissed on screen ever, he doesn't see much point in his 'kids' doing it either!
Wearing the mantle of a protective mentor-parent seriously, Salman is all set to launch his proteges Sooraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty in his upcoming home production Hero.
As per a report in mumbaimirror.com, director Nikhil Advani says that in one of the songs, Khoya khoya, the two are lying in the back of a truck when Sooraj pulls a blanket over them and kisses Athiya. The director says, "It was just a peck... A brush of the lips... But even before I could see it, Salman did, and insisted on editing it out. His argument was that in all these years, he had never kissed on screen, so there was no reason for his 'children' to lock lips."
Admitting that he had never considered remaking a film, Nikhil Advani says in the report, "In the two and-a-half years that I sat at home waiting for an actor, I have written enough scripts of my own. But I can't say no to Salman," he says. Isn't it surprising that after seeing D-Day, a stark spy thriller about an undercover espionage mission, Salman thought of Nikhil to direct a young love story? "I don't think he's seen D-Day yet," quips Nikhil. "His brief to me was to not make another D-Day. He wanted a larger-than-life film. He was launching two new faces and wanted to give them the platform he had got. He told me we had to emulate the scale of Salaam-e-Ishq in terms of music and grandeur."
But when it comes to kisses, "It's cut, cut, cut!" laughs Nikhil.
